Turning Point
As mentioned before, comic books were very violent. This caused the adults to worry because they feared that if children continued to read violent comics, it would affect their behaviors. Some worried parents held bonfires to try and stop comic books from being sold but they were obviously unsuccessful because comic books are popular today. When comics were first introduced, it was a very religious time. Many believed that all books should be made similar to the Bible. Comic books were very fast-paced, unlike the Bible. Also, although they were violent, comic books influenced many children to read more, which increased intelligence. Comic books were also a cheap form of entertainment that many people could afford so they were even more successful. Comic books eventually became very popular, especially to children, and many people enjoy them even today. Some people enjoy them so much, that they collect comic books. Comic books are currently one of the most popular forms of entertainment, and appear in many things, from movies to video games.
